      What an exciting time it is to be a Cleveland Cavaliers fan! With the Cleveland Browns season approaching and the Cleveland Guardians in the middle of a playoff race, this week the Cavaliers stole the front page of the Sports Section with the blockbuster addition of former Utah Jazz Guard Donovan Mitchell.

       The Cavaliers traded Forwards Lauri Markkanen and Rookie Ochai Ajbaji, Guard Collin Sexton, three future 1st round picks along with two future pick swaps. That is massive give up for a player. However, this isn't any ordinary player. Mitchell who is only 25 years old and some would argue is in the prime of his career. He is a 3 time All Star, has never scored less than 20.5 points in any season. He has career numbers of 23.9 PTS, 4.2 REBS, 4.5 AST and has a career shooting percentage of 44.1% from the field. In the deal for Mitchell the Cavs were still able to keep their core players intact. This upcoming season the Cavaliers have the opportunity to have 4 All Stars in their starting lineup. Very few teams have ever accomplished that in the history of the NBA. 

            I  had the opportunity to have a quick interview with Will Banfield of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Will is the Membership Development Department and he gave me the inside scoop on what it was like in the building the day all the rumors were swirling. He also talks a little bit about what the Cleveland Cavaliers have to offer this season! Below you will see our conversation. 

 

- What a huge acquisition Donovan Mitchell is! What's the atmosphere like in the building?

WILL BANFIELD: "Absolutely crazy! We had Thursday afternoon off as a office morale day. Once people saw the news start to come through, everyone came running back to the office with excitement. It literally came out of nowhere."

 

- It's a bolt of energy into what was already a fun team to watch. Can we expect Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse to be packed all season long?"

WILL BANFIELD: "You sure can! We have already had over 500 deposits come in for new packages since the trade. Our inventory for most games is starting to shrink."

 

- What type of packages do the Cleveland Cavaliers offer?

WILL BANFIELD: "We offer the normal plans. Quarter season which is 11 games, Half season which is 21 games and Full season plan. 

 

- What perks or benefits come with being a Cleveland Season Ticket Member?

WILL BANFIELD: "LeBron and the Lakers, Golden State Warriors, and Brooklyn Nets seem to be our biggest sellers so far."
